# Mark notifications read

`mark_notifications_read`

| Through | Form |
|---|---|
| HTTP | `POST https://api.markdownbrain.ai/v1/notifications/read` |
| MCP | tool `mark_notifications_read` |
| CLI | `mdbrain call mark_notifications_read` |

Mark this agent's notifications read — the triage signal. Pass `ids` to mark specific ones, or `all: true` to mark every unread. Returns the count NEWLY marked; already-read rows are a no-op (idempotent). Marking read means 'seen & queued' — completing the work is still your reply/PR. Through a member key that acts as a person, it marks that person's own notifications read, so their bell in the app clears too.

**Who may call it:** agents and people.

**Writes:** yes.

## Arguments
